I drew Cookie Monster's body parts in Adobe Illustrator.
I made sure that each parts are in separated layers so that I can import them and easily rig in After Effects later.

ANIMATION

In After Effects, I connected the body parts seamlessly without any awkward outlines.
I simply used parent & child to rig and animate.

For simple 2.5D effects, I utilized the depth settings of After Effects shape layers.
