CONCEPT

  1. The Unique Rhythm

    The design mixes repetitive geometric shapes with organic waves. The waves are what make Grammy winners special: their totally unique and distinct music style that breaks the pattern and shows off their individual talent.

  1. Grammys Live

    Before the Grammy, music was mainly orchestras and operas. Today, concerts are dynamic performances with dance and design. Since music and dancing are never static, the Grammy should reflect that, using motion to match the beat and color to show the feeling of music.

Based on EJ Hassenfratz's gramophone model, I did the UV unwrap and designed custom textures in Adobe Illustrator using patterns that match the Art Deco style.

Juan created videos in various resolutions to complement the geometric pattern animation featured in the opener. Since he was making a horizontally long video, he made made each section into its own comp to manage the complex pattern animation easier.
